https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=427671 Summary: "/etc/init.d/dbus restart" considered harmful Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vuntz@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I wanted to check something and restarted dbus with "/etc/init.d/dbus restart". I knew some things were going to crash, but, well, my complete session was killed :-) I think "/etc/init.d/dbus restart" should just print a message like "Do not use this: applications will crash and your session might get killed. If you really want to restart dbus, use force-restart" and the feature should be moved to /etc/init.d/dbus force-restart" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
