I'm going to try ModemManager-0.4-39.4.i586.rpm from factory out of despair... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However I was not able to establish an Internet connection using the modem-manager with KDE4 and knetwork-manager. Something triggers a strange USB connectivity problem there (bug 659289). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

(I have some more logs from GNOME at home) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The solution is to disable the KDE network manager and install GNOME's instead. Then I was able to establish a connection. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

One of the main reasons of the problems is stated in comment #5. Still I think not application program that fails (segfault) should ever kill the whole USB subsystem (see also bug 659289 for messages). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
