[Bug 1158326] New: [Build 20191202] openQA test fails in ibus_test_kr
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1158326 Bug ID: 1158326 Summary: [Build 20191202] openQA test fails in ibus_test_kr Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1102602/modules/ibus _test_kr/steps/20 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: gnome-bugs@suse.de Reporter: stefan.bruens@rwth-aachen.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- ## Observation openQA test in scenario opensuse-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-gnome-x11-ibus@64bit fails in [ibus_test_kr](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1102602/modules/ibus_test_kr/steps/20) ## Test suite description The rendering of the "HANGUL SYLLABLE HAN" in the ibus switcher is broken, only a box is shown instead. Previously, an upscaled bitmap glyph was rendered, likely coming from "efont-unicode-bitmap-fonts". To debug which fonts provide the glyph (Unicode code point U+D55C): $> fc-list :charset=0xd55c ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [20191129](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1100512) ## Expected result Last good: [20191128](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1098917) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&flavor=DVD&machine=64bit&test=gnome-x11-ibus&version=Tumbleweed) Probable reasons *not* relevant: - Pango change to 1.44 - test is still using Pango 1.43 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/issues/386 ) - Bugfix for perl 3.30 in efont-unicode-bitmap-fonts - test is using 0.4.2-227.8, bugfix is only in 0.4.2-228.x. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Probable reasons *not* relevant: - Pango change to 1.44 - test is still using Pango 1.43 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pango/issues/386 ) - Bugfix for perl 3.30 in efont-unicode-bitmap-fonts - test is using 0.4.2-227.8, bugfix is only in 0.4.2-228.x.
Are you sure about that? Pango 1.44 was merged on Nov 29 (so 1202 must have it) Perl 5.30.1 was merged on Dec 02 (so must be present in 1202) What's interesting though is that in https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1102602#step/ibus_test_kr/18 Korean is the only one missing to be rendered. The other languages seem fine -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Are you sure about that? Was - obviously I followed the wrong link. (Can we have the output of 'rpm -qa' as part of the logs, please?)
20191129 was the first one to fail, i.e. when Pango 1.44 was merged.
Korean is the only one missing to be rendered. The other languages seem fine
The other scripts obviously use a different font - hangul is the only one reverting to efont-unicode-bitmap-fonts, see e.g. https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1098917#step/ibus_test_kr/15 Only bitmap fonts are affected. Probably, ibus-hangul (or libhangul) should pull in a suitable font: Recommends: noto-sans-kr-fonts Requires: scalable-font-ko -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
