As a work-around, I created symlinks where I thought the installer might be calling parted. / /root /usr/bin /usr/local/bin /live for example, from the /root directory, I entered "ln -s /usr/sbin/parted ." as the root user. Yes, I know that creating so many symlinks is a bit hackish, but it did work for me. The installer was able to complete the full installation of the OS, and I'm writing from Tumbleweed at the moment.
