https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735854 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735854#c0 Summary: Non operational system after installation of 12.1 from DVD Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: PreussigM@web.de QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=466734) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=466734) Log files from YaST run; zipped User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 After the installation of a new system on a set of hdd-partitions allready in use for 11.3 but re-formatted the whole system is not operational. A bug is reported by yast on the command 'ls' not able to find. Suggestion is written to report this here. Additional information are incomplete since I'm writing this on windows ... remember: Linux doesn't work. During installation copy run a lot of error messages are presented by Yast belonging to an error with exit status 127 (scriptled failed; always reported with %post). There exists a long but incomplete list of packages concerned. If needed the list can be added here. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: A long time process and error message suggestion to report it is reason to do so without new try. YaST shows hdd in different order than BIOS. Due to boot needs I've changed the order to reflect the BIOS order of drives in grub configuration file. Kernel connects scsi channels in order different to scsi BIOS do it. So sdd up to sdf are BIOS drives 0x80 up to 0x82. Second adaptor with sda to sdc are ten 0x83 to 0x85. IDE are at the end. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Reassigning to bootloader maintainer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
