--- Comment #24 from roland kletzing 2007-12-22 09:07:00 MST ---
after using 2.6.24 kotd kernels for some time now, unfortunately i have to
tell, that my problem reappears from time to time.
basically, suspend/resume works good, but occasionally i have problems.
iirc (not 100% sure if it _only_ happens with this), sometimes suspend fails.
i.e. i see the screen switching to console, where s2disk tells that it`s saving
to disk. then i turn off the monitor and wonder that the system won`t go down
and when i swith the monitor on again, i see that i`m "back in business" and
thus the suspend seems to have failed.
this happened several times now and iirc, after such event, the network usually
shows the problem i described before - i.e. network doesn`t work anymore and
unloading/reloading 8139too module doesn`t work either and i`m getting:
Dec 22 16:32:37 lifebook kernel: [ 7577.535198] 8139too Fast Ethernet driver
0.9.28
Dec 22 16:32:37 lifebook kernel: [ 7577.535297] ACPI: PCI Interrupt
0000:02:0d.0[A] -> Link [LNKC] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
Dec 22 16:32:37 lifebook kernel: [ 7577.535333] 8139too 0000:02:0d.0: Chip not
responding, ignoring board
Dec 22 16:32:37 lifebook kernel: [ 7577.535394] ACPI: PCI interrupt for device
0000:02:0d.0 disabled
Dec 22 16:32:37 lifebook kernel: [ 7577.535406] 8139too: probe of 0000:02:0d.0
failed with error -5
actually, i`m using 2.6.24-rc5-git4-20071218120320-default.
i have attached (see above) the relevant part of my /var/log/messages file
