Yes, the acpi module loading in SLE[SD]10 times is done really ugly. The laptop
specific modules are as said loaded in /etc/init.d/acpid. This was a quick
hack and does not rely on any /etc/sysconfig variable (AFAIK).
Anyway, I doubt this has to do much with wrong HW poking or driver
interference.
If you give the machine something to do, the temerature is increasing rapidly
and the values are sane.
AFAIK especially this ThinkPad series, maybe some others too, have a quite bad
thermal design and rely on a working thermal management.
Robert: Please also clean up the fan slot. I agree that we have a regression
here compared to 10.2 and one might argue passive cooling must always kick in
and so on...
AFAIK Robert also find out that:
- with T41p latest BIOS passive thermal trip point event is not thrown
- with T42p BIOS is fixed and a passive thermal trip point event is thrown
