Neil, Arvin is able to trigger an MD event loop in userspace. This should be
possible in all products, also in older ones. They just time differently, so it
seems, this didn't happen so far.
The async event handling in userspace causes udev to access a MD device node of
a device which does no longer exist at that moment. The access cause MD's
kernel part to instantiate a new device, which is instantly destroyed again.
The add/remove events caused by this are queuing up, and run in an endless loop
until the box would hang/crash.
I think the MD instantiate-device-on-dead-device-node-access stuff finally
needs to die. It creates problems, I have no idea how we can solve them in
userspace. Any ideas?
