https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=422756 Summary: Applications like KDESU, GNOMESU and GKSU do not function anymore Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tittiatwork@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Today (3rd September) I updated my system to the latest factory build. Currently I am running Factory and KDE4_Unstable branch. After the update I noticed that neither kdesu (KDE4 & KDE3 version), Gnomesu and gksu are properly functioning. For all applications a box appears that requests the root password, but then nothing happens. Executing kdesu /sbin/yast2 inside a konsole delivers the password box, but directly after the prompt appears in the konsole without the yast2 application started. Whatever I use as command, it is not being executed. If I use sudo instead of kdesu, then it works, but I get the normal error that it cannot find a X-display. Given that all kdesu-similar applications are affected, I assume that this has to do with one of the system libraries.
