I can verify this including the multiple entries of the same network after a
while, funny part is that if I use Yast network to not use Knetwork manager
(ifup) and thus enter the connection details there it connects without a
problem (I even copy the hexadecimal encryption key from the same source in
yast or in knetwork manager)
Knetwork manager just keeps asking to enter the password.
iwconfig goes from:
eth1 unassociated ESSID:off/any
to
eth1 unassociated ESSID:"my_id"
to
eth1 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"my_id"
during the pop-up for the password it will go to
eth1 unassociated ESSID:">\x05\xF1\xEC\xD9g3\xB7..etc...etc...\xFA"
