Under SuSE 11.2, DVDs work fine, but CDs do not. The CDs will mount, but take about 2 minutes to do so. dmesg reports errors like these: [ 4927.652790] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Unhandled sense code [ 4927.652805] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE [ 4927.652816] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Medium Error [current] [ 4927.652827] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Add. Sense: L-EC uncorrectable error [ 4927.652838] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 13584 [ 4927.652849] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 3396 Once it is mounted, the CD works fine. Note that I was able to write a CD-R using this system. The same problem occurred when trying to read it. However, it was read without problem by another, non-11.2 system. Also note, that if I take the hard disk with SuSE 11.2 out, and boot with a disk containing SuSE 8.2, using the SAME DVD drive, with the SAME CD in that drive, the CD works correctly. The DVD drive in question is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223B SB01. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
