https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214281 Summary: System hangs while booting Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gh55@heinzel.name QAContact: qa@suse.de I just needed 4 attempts to boot. The first one took very long, nothing seemed to happen, so I hit "Esc" for more information, but nothing happened. Eventually the graphic login screen came up, but neither USB mouse nor USB keyboard were reacting at all. Brute-force powerdown, new attempt, without hitting ESC: same result, mouse and keyboard not responding at graphic login when it eventually appears. One more same attempt with same results. Finally I disconnected all USB devices except mouse and keyboard, and then it finally worked. (I had not attached any new devices since previous successful boot procedures, the only thing that may have changed is the network configuration). I attach the logfiles in the hope that someone can find useful information there (I can't). The zmd-backend.log is very long. Is that normal? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
