The final lines on the screen are: Write protecting the kernel text: 2372k Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 1776k Kernel panic - not synching: attempted to kill init! This failure occurs for all boot options: "openSUSE Live (KDE)", "Failsafe Settings", and "Check Installation Media". The media boots on a VirtualBox VM and the media was checked on the VM. The CPU on this machine is an AMD K6-2/450 with 512 MB RAM. It currently runs openSUSE 10.3 with a 2.6.28-rc6 kernel.
