Hi - I'm the upstream developer and noticed this bug. It's old but I thought
I'd chime in for the packager. I don't use OpenSUSE, BTW.
The bug was caused by a mismatch between the SIP ABI and SIP ABI used when
Veusz was built. It is typically caused by an update to the ABI (updating SIP
without rebuilding veusz). Veusz also relies on a specific Numpy ABI, so this
can cause problems too.
Fedora solves this problem by depending on a particular SIP ABI:
%{?_sip_api:Requires: sip-api(%{_sip_api_major}) >= %{_sip_api}}
Fedora doesn't depend on a particular Numpy ABI, but should do so. The debian
package has a dependency on the two ABIs.
I don't know whether OpenSUSE has a mechanism for depending on a specific ABI,
but it probably should do if it doesn't.
