I have same problem. Traced to no DVI or VGA output (s-video only) with new
kernel (2.6.37.6-0.5.1) reverting to old kernel resolves problem. Note, I
cannot boot in Failsafe with the new kernel, unlike the original poster of this
bug report. More detail is provided in opensuse forum:
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-logi...
I get same error: kernel: [ 26.537320] [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid
framebuffer id
boot.msg vs. boot.omsg output is in that thread, or I can provide here, if it
would help. The key in the boot.msg files is here:
6.824850] [drm:radeon_i2c_create] *ERROR* Failed to register bit i2c DVI_DDC
<4>[ 6.824868] Radeon i2c bit bus VGA_DDC: bus seems to be busy
<3>[ 6.824907] [drm:radeon_i2c_create] *ERROR* Failed to register bit i2c
VGA_DDC
<4>[ 6.824972] Radeon i2c bit bus MONID: bus seems to be busy
In this case (new kernel) the DVI and VGA connectors are not set-up. With the
old kernel the DVI and VGA connectors are established.
