http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=600481 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=600481#c0 Summary: DSDT-Substitution doesn't work anymore Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ulrich.vogl@infreising.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 SUSE/3.6.3-1.5 Firefox/3.6.3 As I read due to genery policy reasons, you removed the ACPI/DSDT-Overload-Feature from Kernel, thought on can still configure it via Sysconfig (but it simply doesn't have an effect!). That's bad: Fan-Speed-Control on my "Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V2030" doesn't work any more. The fan runs always with the same (hight) speed; echo -n 0 > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN/state doesn't have any effect now. Pleas re-activate the DSDT-Overload-Patch in current kernel or fix the broken-DSDT-bug for the Fujitsu-Siemens-Amilo-Pro-V2030. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Simply install the current kernel 2. 3. Actual Results: High energy consumption - noisy notebook Expected Results: reactivate DSDT-Overload-Patch in Kernel or fix the DSDT-Problem for Fujitsu-Siemens-Amilo-Pro_V2030 I could also provide you the manually fixed version of the DSDT.aml, which i was used to overload for last three years. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
