The architecture surrounding the ACPI code has changed enough that it's no longer safe to update the DSDT at runtime - at least not in the manner we've been using. The initramfs is expanded quite a bit after the early ACPI initialization that would load the DSDT and pushing the initramfs initialization up has been the source of many other bug reports.
