--- Comment #15 from Neil Rickert ---
A comment on this.
When the bug was originally reported, Tumbleweed was using grub2-2.02. By now
both Tumbleweed and Leap 15.2 (not yet released) are using grub2-2.04. Leap
15.1 is still at version 2.02.
With version 2.04, the provided "grub.efi" does support the "linux" command.
And, practically speaking, "linux" and "linuxefi" are either equivalent or
almost equivalent. Since the original report related to being able to use
"linux", that much has now been solved.
Perhaps generated "grub.cfg" files should switch to using "linux" rather than
"linuxefi". That is to say, the line:
GRUB_USE_LINUXEFI="true"
in "/etc/default/grub" should be changed or commented out. Maybe wait until
15.2 is released, or even until 15.1 reaches EOL before making that change.
