Nothing happens. If you try a simple wvdial connection it will works, but not always. I cant say exactly if it is the firmware or the network-manager applet. I heard a lot of problems with the network-manager and a lenovo umts minipci express card. A regular pc-express-card, like the Huawei E870 works fine with the network-manager. Here are some information about the running system Lenovo x220 Netzwerk-Manager-Applet 0.8.2 Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0bdb:1911 Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV 0A36186 (Lenovo Part Number) cdc_acm wvdial pin output: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60 --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: AT+CPIN=mypin AT+CPIN=mypin ERROR --> Bad init string. --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: AT+CPIN=mypin AT+CPIN=mypin ERROR --> Bad init string. --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: AT+CPIN=mypin AT+CPIN=mypin ERROR --> Bad init string. wvdial output: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60 --> Cannot get information for serial port. --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.t-mobile" AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.t-mobile" OK --> Modem initialized. --> Idle Seconds = 300, disabling automatic reconnect. --> Sending: ATDT*99***1# --> Waiting for carrier. Starting PPP immediately. --> Starting pppd at Tue Jul 12 18:58:01 2011 --> Pid of pppd: 14158 --> Using interface ppp0 --> Disconnecting at Tue Jul 12 18:58:02 2011 --> The PPP daemon has died: A modem hung up the phone (exit code = 16) --> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail. --> Try again and look into /var/log/messages and the wvdial and pppd man pages for more information And sometimes it is working...and i didnt change anything on this system. And if i cant get a connetion with wvdial i´m trying to test it with the network-manager..but nothing happens. After this step most of trys i can connect over wvdial again. It seems to get a hard/soft reset if i try the network-manager. Has anybody an idea whats going on here? This "Bug" only happens when im trying to get a connection with the internal umts card. If anybody has an idea, i would like to test a new firmware or whatever we need to get this bug gone.
