--- Comment #39 from John Bailo 2007-11-14 20:40:39 MST ---
Ok, I tried the workarounds and was not able to get proper screen resolution.
Using the basic nvidia drivers, I get 1680 x 1050 autodetected correctly for my
Acer 22W (side bug: if I go to try and change it in Sax2 the dialog box lands
mostly off screen in the upper left corner and I can't access the controls).
If I switch to the G01 drivers for X11 and nvidia I get set to a screen of VESA
1024 x 768. If I try sax2 to change the monitor to LCD 1680 x 1050 it shows an
unusable screen with part of the image running off the top and a resolution
that looks like 640 x 480.
I have attached the xorg.conf and xorg.0.log for these three situations:
1) Running with basic drivers. Display works but no acceleration.
2) Using the G01 drivers but no manual changes
3) Using the G01 drivers but using the last suggested Option for
"ModeValidation" "DFP-0: ... "
I tried the earlier fixes as well but they had the same result.
To fix, I uninstalled with YaST2 at the line command and rebooted.
