Damn, I was wrong with my assumption. Both boots where done without qla2xxx in
the initrd. The only difference was a "_netdev" option for the two devices in
/etc/fstab. I rebooted one more time with the _netdev option and the devices
where mounted. Removing them and rebooting the system several times lead to the
devices beeing sometimes mounted, sometimes not.
I've googled a bit and found some hints for setting use_lvmetad=1 in
/etc/lvm/lvm.conf and enable lvm2-lvmetad.service to activate lvm. I've
rebooted several times and it looks like it works. I've updated another (mostly
identical configured) machine and there lvmetad does his job too.
