It could be x86 linux kernel 0x020c boot protocol introduces sentinel to
enforce the spec (Documentation/x86/boot.txt) compliance, that the boot
parameters has to be cleared after which only the portion of setup_header is
copied in, the linuxefi (actually most bootloader, including elilo) is affected
and sentinel triggered, it would impact the security_boot flag in kernel and
among other things.
A fix in linuxefi is possible (and not difficult) but I heard that kernel could
handle this case with a patch. Add CC Joey here.
