Wheras I can somewhat understand your frustration, rest assured that you can
safely remove the compiz packages (or during the installation, which apparently
works for those users) flag it not to be installed again.
None of the webbrowsers in the distribution require any functionality provided
by compiz and it is all pure optical.

Disabling compiz for every user that got to love it (yes, it IS more than the 4
devs you mention) is very counter-productive. After all, it IS about choice.
Focribly disabling it with an update would rob those users from the choice of
haviing it.
