Whether it is due to updates or the following tweaks, I am not sure. But my
desktop has been far more stable than in the past month. Crashes are less
frequent now.
I first subscribed to the KDE repositories, Applications. Extras, and
Frameworks5, which improved the stability, but the desktop was still crashing
frequently.
Doing some reading on my graphics card, I discovered a blue button on the top
of the SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100364VXL Radeon R9 270X was a toggle for Legacy to
UEFI support, and apparently, works better in UEFI mode. Pressing the switch
may have stabilized the graphics card somehow.
