Do not know if my situation is connected with this problem. I do not use
Knetwork Manager, only the Yast > network devices as I am only connected via
wired ethernet. Installed stock KDE from 12.1RC1_x64 DVD onto a real
partition.
After install, at first desktop, tried to connect via Firefox. No connection
worked, or non set up. Had to go into the Yast2 Network Devices module to set
it up. The on-board chip (RTL8111E) had been found, and was supposedly set up
for DHCP but, as noted, it was not working.
I set it up manually, using a fixed IP and supplied DNS servers, and it
activated the connection OK and worked thereafter. As an aside, my router
always gives DHCP addresses and info, so it is probably something in the
install routines. Same thing happened in 12.1 Beta. FYI.
