I did several fixes related to device renaming and it should be in much better
shape than before. These changes are available since 13.1 M4
Particularly, from YaST POV these steps are important:
- fixed device type detection
- since yast2.rpm 2.24.5
- yast2-network.rpm 2.25.7 (bnc#695262 & co.)
- some fixes in yast2-installation regarding systemd (mainly starting /
stopping services)
I did several tests since then (mainly in VirtualBox, VmWare, ...) and I was
able to
- rename e.g. enp0s3 -> int0 and back ;-)
- install 13.1 from scratch and have working configuration for enp0s3
What can be a problem is upgrade. It is untested scenario.
However, I'd like to see the feature enabled in 13.1, so please test it in your
test environment if you can.
