I see that the split off of the -eps package in kimageformats happened only recently:

- Split out the eps plugin into an independant subpackage (bsc#1117336) - Remove unnecessary ldconfig calls
@Fabian: I cannot access the bug referred to in the changelog, but I suspect it has something to do with security issues around ghostscript.
Indeed, it's a tracker bug for gs related issues with the recommendation of removing GS.
Do you know if there is a policy regarding dealing with ghostscript related dependencies, as in this bug?
Yes, ghostscript should not be installed by default or if unavoidable, only explicitly enabled by the user. For kimageformats-eps it's a bit more complicated, because simply installing it exposes potentially all Qt applications to ghostscript and not just LyX. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
