https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254331 Summary: Machine "hangs" on the first boot during install Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mboman@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de When installing 10.3Alpha1Plus on a DELL PowerEdge 800, after the file copy is done, the machine reboots. But during that boot, it stops. Keyboard is still working fine. Tried the Failsafe option but same results. Tried brokenmodules with st,sg all the raid modules in md but to no avail. The last couple of things on the screen are; NET: Registered protocol family 1 Using IPI No-Shortcut mode ACPI: (supports S0 S4 S5) Freeing unused kernel memory: 192k freed Time: tsc clocksource has been installed. When pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del the following message shows up; md: stopping all md devices. And then the machine restarts. Let me know what more information I can try to collect for you (don't have a serial port on the machine and netconsole does not work at this stage in the boot process I think). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
