I don't really get, what's strange with the permissions.
Why should I forbid users to read the shell script?
Why should they get execution rights if they are not allowed to do the executed
changes?
I mean I don't care if it's 755 and fails during execution or if it's 744 and
is harder to execute for them from the beginning.
What is your rationale why that is strange?
