Hi Thomas,
Thank you for your speedy response.
Yes, I should have mentioned in the original statement that I do get the same
message after clicking `Check Now' however something has changed .... feh! :)
I said nothing was pending originally however that's not entirely accurate.
I've been holding off on upgrading Firefox as I'm waiting for my extensions to
become available. Sorry about that.
I just checked, via `yast2' > `Software Management' and I see there are some
Amarok packages along with Firefox pending. I went ahead and did the update of
the Amarok packages while keeping Firefox:
Package > All Packages > Update if newer version available
After running the above update, I'm no longer in the `infinite loop'! :) It
does seem like something was out of whack and running the update cleared out
the system's colon.
The interesting thing is there is a Firefox update pending (I can see it in the
`Software Management' pane) but the `updater' isn't showing it. When I hover
the mouse, I see `No Updates Available'
I've configured the updater applet as follows:
o Check for updates every: 24 hours
o Show recurring ... : 60 minutes
o Backend ZYpp Backend
And all the following are checked:
- Automatically start updater on login
- Show available upgrades when backend ...
- Show notifications
- Always show detailed view
- Check for updates only when the ... to charger
- Check for updates only ... low load
I also forced the update a `Check Now' and still, `updater' doesn't see the
pending Firefox package.
I'll attach the `zypper' query - basically nothing is displayed which tells me
the poor little `updater' is getting a bum rap, it's `zypper' that's not
telling it what's up.
Cheers!
