http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1129027 Bug ID: 1129027 Summary: X does not start (completely?) with latest kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: cornelis@solcon.nl QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 799877 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=799877&action=edit log of 15.1 kernel with modesetting driver Last night upgraded to 15.1 from 15.0. Ended up, after reboot, with a black screen. It does work when I boot the 15.0 kernel and it does boot with the 15.1 kernel when I install the x11 intel drivers. So the problem seems to be that the latest kernel does not work with the modesetting driver. (BTW: I had the same bug on TW when the kernel was upgrade from 4.20.12 to 4.20.13. 4.20.13 did end up with a black screen, but with 4.20.12 I got a working system. I did not try to install the intel driver there. And I do not have that TW system anymore). I will add three version of Xorg-0.log. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
