Update and more Info.
Now running kernel 4.13.1-1, the middle button still not recognized as
existing.
There is a workaround though. I can use the right button to emulate the wheel
by setting the following options in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/11-evdev.conf:
Option "EmulateWheel" "on"
Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "on"
Not an ideal setup.
