Re comment 7, comment 8: Sure, the patch does not introduce any dependency between sg and the different scsi device drivers. But that's the same with the current approach, there is no guarantee that the modules will finish initializing in a given order. And I actually do not see any udev rules working with sd/sr/st devices and sg devices at the same time, so where is the issue?
I suspect an issue may come up if a customer scripts a sequence where they install there device, rescan the SCSI bus, and then expect sg access to the device, particularly in a busy system. But that is speculation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
