GRUB boot failure
I tried booting up the Knoppix live CD and fixing GRUB, but didn't have much
luck. Most of what I read suggested using the chroot command, which I couldn't
get to run (it appears because Knoppix is only compiled for 32-bit and my
processor is 64-bit). What seemed to be most promising was when I simply typed
"grub" to enter a grub shell and the typed the following:
root (hd1,1)
setup (hd1)
quit
However, when I rebooted I got the message:
(hd1,1)/boot/message: file not found
I was then taken to a screen where I could pick between the standard 10.3 boot
and safe mode (although in black and white console as opposed to the normal
screen). After my selection I got the attached error. It appears that it's
looking on the correct disk, but I'm not sure what the "resume=/dev/sdb1"
indicates since I believe my root partition is on /dev/sda2.
