https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=444912 Summary: Some Packages No Longer Build on 11.0 After Latest Updates Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: drankinatty@suddenlinkmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- There have been several cases in the past two weeks where packages that I have built before, no longer build on openSuSE 11.0. These include: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/schmolle1980/openSUSE_11.0/s... and most recent, the new 8-11 ATI driver package: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/64bit/ati-... Attempting to build the madwifi driver from source with rpmbuild --rebuild madwifi-r3725+AR5007EG-2.2.src.rpm, results in: 21:20 alchemy~/madwifi/schmolle/src> rpmbuild --rebuild madwifi-r3725+AR5007EG-2.2.src.rpm Installing madwifi-r3725+AR5007EG-2.2.src.rpm warning: InstallSourcePackage: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 31812260 error: line 29: Unknown tag: %internal_kmp_error Attempting to build the ati driver: 20:22 alchemy~/tmp> sh ./ati-driver-installer-8-11-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE110-AMD64 Created directory fglrx-install.lc0HCT Verifying archive integrity... All good. Uncompressing ATI Proprietary Linux Driver-8.552................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. ================================================== ATI Technologies Linux Driver Installer/Packager ================================================== Generating package: SuSE/SUSE110-AMD64 /tmp/ati.Ns23bQ Package build failed! Removing temporary directory: fglrx-install.lc0HCT Something is definitely gone haywire with the configuration for basic rpm building. I don't know whether it is some type of kernel naming or package naming convention or what the problem is. I can still build the ati 8-9 driver, so the ATI issue is with the driver package, but I can't help suspect that there might be a relationship between why the new ATI driver will not build and why the madwifi rpm won't build either. Let me know if I can send additional information or do some additional type of testing. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
