http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1162724 Bug ID: 1162724 Summary: netcfg-11.6-5.1 breaks the system Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: comes@naic.edu QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After updating netcfg, the following services did not start anymore: postfix nscd autofs ypbind ntpd and sddm only shows a black login screen. The cause of the problems is the move of file /etc/services to /usr/etc. I added a symlink (ln -s /usr/etc/services /etc) to see what will happen and after a reboot most services worked again except nscd and ntpd. If instead of the symlink a copy the file (rm /etc/services ; cp /usr/etc/services /etc) then after the reboot everything works again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
