Let's handle the "3 modems listed in NM" part with #449988 because that's HAL
telling MM there's 3 modems.
Are you saying your modem has a PIN code but NM never asks for it? That could
cause the unknown error (although the modem is directed to give better errors
than 'ERROR'). Could you try to send 'AT+CPIN="9999"' (replace the PIN) to the
card using minicom and then try to activate it again using NetworkManager. Does
that fix the problem?
