--- Comment #3 from Craig Rogers 2011-12-11 16:12:07 UTC ---
I haven't yet allowed the openSUSE 11.4 installation to pass the point of no
return, so I can still provide a few details. I'll have to proceed with
installation soon, though, because this PC has a job to do. :-)
The existing partition table has three partitions: a 100 MB NTFS partition
labeled "SYSTEM" (/dev/sda1), a 454.72 GB NTFS partition labeled "OS"
(/dev/sda2), and a 10.94 GB NTFS partition labeled "HP_RECOVERY" (/dev/sda3).
No other partitions are shown for /dev/sda.
I attempt to resize the second NTFS partition by right-clicking on it in the
openSUSE 12.1 installer's "Expert Partitioner" screen, then selecting "resize"
An error popup immediately appears, which I'll hand copy here:
Error

Please make a test run using both the -n and -s options before real resizing!
When I repeat this same procedure (right-click "resize") on openSUSE 11.4's
Expert Partitioner screen, the installer proceeds to present me with the
following pop-up, which, again, I'll hand copy here:
YaST2

I assume that openSUSE 11.4's response is correct, and that openSUSE 12.1's
response is not. My guess is that the resizing program has changed its output,
but there could be other causes, such as the resizing program taking a
different set of options, or just some change in how the installer calls the
resizing program.
