[Bug 289284] psql fails to talk to postgresql-server-8.1.3

It says: WARNING: You are connected to a server with major version 8.1, but your psql client is major version 8.2. Some backslash commands, such as \d, might not work properly. We have postgresql-8.1.4 on SLES10-SP1, so we did not break SLES.
