I experience the same problems with my rt2500pci card.
I can confirm, that
# iwconfig wlan0 ap any
does work too.
I also tried to setup the mac address of my access point in the YaST WLAN
configuration (expert settings), but this did not work.
Is there a way, that I can modify any of the network scripts to execute 'iwlist
wlan0 scan' or 'iwconfig wlan0 ap any' automatically? It's very annoying, that
I always have to login as root at first to execute one of these two commands
manually.
Downloading and compiling the serialmonkey CVS driver is an other way to fix
the problem, but this has to be done after every kernel update, so this is a
very annoying workaround, too.
