http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=597596 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=597596#c10 --- Comment #10 from Martin Seidler <Martin.Seidler@web.de> 2010-05-18 11:37:22 UTC --- It seems to me the stable version of the linux kernel 2.6.34 is in the kernel repository for openSUSE_11.2: Index of /repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_11.2/i586 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_11.2/i586/ kernel-default-2.6.34-33.1.i586.rpm 17-May-2010 20:36 35M Mirrors Metalink http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_11.2/i586/ke... I. Should I - try this for my openSUSE_11.3 Factory or - wait till it is in the Kernel:/HEAD/Factory or - wait till it is in the http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/suse/i586/ (now there is only kernel-default-2.6.34-7.5.i586.rpm of 15-May-2010 04:35)? II. Is there also a chance to try another video driver? I tried to do as described in http://forums.opensuse.org/information-new-users/unreviewed-how-faq/430150-o... but with no success: I could only change to the vesa driver and learnt that this driver does not work at all on my laptop with 11.3 m6/factory. III. Or which compiz or mesa may I try to work with openSuse 11.3 Milestone 6(+x)/Factory and my i915GM internal graphic card/Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 900? IV. Or should I try to install Ubuntu 10.4 (in place of Milestone 6) and post here if it works with my Samsung X20 1730 V / SX20S laptop? V. Is there any chance that something form "855resolution" out of (open)SuSE10.x remained in the /home of 11.2 or the installation method (DVD for 11.2 and live CD for 11.3 Milestone 6) had influence on the difference?
