abittner@tux:/tmp> cat etc/mdadm.conf

ARRAY /dev/md126 metadata=1.0 name=linux:1

ARRAY /dev/md0 metadata=1.0 name=linux:0

so that might be the reson of the strange high md126 number. but as I have
posted earlier in this bug, using the opensuse dvd image and its rescue part,
that also gave me strange 126 and 127 md numbers, so is there a generic problem
in the initrd on the resuce part or in general on the dvd/iso media?
To be honest, I never fully understood the initrd details so far, on how it
gets built and configured from what settings and variables. I am still rather a
laymen in all this grub initrd and kernel booting stuff. I have yet to find
some pointers where its all described in depth. Sometimes I find it hard to do
these rescue bootings and all that chroot and repair work.
Thanks for help.
