Often, you backup /etc but not /usr, so your kdm configuration can get lost. Workaround: mv /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm/kdmrc /etc ln -s /etc/kdmrc /usr/share/kde4/config/kdm Peter Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE-11.3 on your computer.
