well, in the presense of NUL bytes, strlen() is definitely wrong. the issue is
that fgets() succeeds, but that broken while loop believes it didn't find a
end-of-line, and reallocates memory until the machine crashes.
I'm fine with you ignoring the patch, given that its fixed for KDE already, but
there is a bug otherwise it wouldn't have been reproted in the first place. it
is also very easy to reproduce (I can give you a sample .la) file and it is an
easy to fix issue, given that I even included a patch.
In case you say that a .la file should not contain NUL bytes and that crashing
is valid behaviour: well, then close the bug. My part is done, stop reassigning
it. Thanks.
