https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443754 Summary: Allowing opensuseupdater-kde to install boost/boost- devel update uninstalls zypper/libzypp without warning. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: dmacvicar@novell.com ReportedBy: rodney.baker@iinet.net.au QAContact: dmacvicar@novell.com Found By: Community User Created an attachment (id=251329) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=251329) conflicst file generated from Yast Software Management. Running opensuseupdater-kde (KDE4.1.3) on openSuse 10.3, shows boost/boost-devel update available from 1.33.1-108.5 to 1.36.0-2.2. If I allow this update to be installed, zypper and libzypp are uninstalled without warning. To fix it is necessary to force a downgrade of boost/boost-devel from 1.36 to 1.33 using rpm, then reinstall zypper and libzypp from rpm's also. Yast shows the dependency conflicts in the attached conflicts.txt file if the update is attempted through Yast -> Software Management. Normally, if a dependency conflict arises during an automatic update, the update fails with an error message. In this case, no error message is generated until subsequent updates in the same batch time out due to zypper being uninstalled with no warning. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
