Thanks for that. Works much better now. I can connect to the camera if I wait a
few seconds (2-3) after plugging it in (counting from after it shows up on the
desktop and the KDE actions dialog pops up).
If I select the "Digikam detect and download" option from the actions dialog as
soon as it shows up I still get a "Can't connect to camera". If I then choose
"Retry" it successfully connects and I can work with the camera without any
issues. Seems like a timing issue...
Note also that, once I've successfully connected, additional requests to
download via "Digikam detect and download" (for example by right clicking on
the camera icon on the desktop) work just fine. So it looks like it just takes
a bit longer to actually recognize the cam than the UI would make you think.
Browsing the camera from Konqueror also works OK.
So I am happy to report that it's working for me again but there is possibly
still a minor timing issue... Let me know if you need more info.
