https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=808543 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=808543#c0 Summary: Default keyboard layout for dutch users now US International instead of US English Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: knurpht@glosscomputer.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.32 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1425.0 Safari/537.32 SUSE/27.0.1425.0 On openSUSE 12.3 GM the default keyboard layout after choosing Dutch as the language is US International. Wrong, we shouldn't have a windows feature, we should have the "linux" way, i.e. use a compose key to create composed characters. After selection compose key doesn't work anymore. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install, select Dutch as the language, US International is auto-selected 2.Fix: Yast - System - System keyboard layout to US English 3.All back to normal Actual Results: No compose key, wrong keyboard layout for a linux user. Expected Results: US English as the default for dutch users. They can set the US International layout in their desktop if they want windows behaviour. I know some people have been putting pressure to change this, one in peticular. We've tried to stop this when discussing it on a dutch launch party. Many of us there agreed it should never be US International. Linux is not windows. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
