I need to see how ata_piix failed to detect the drive. Can you please boot
with the installation media without the parameter to disable libata modules and
do the following?
1. after installation system finishes to load, switch to command console by
pressing ctrl-alt-f9. This will give you a shell.
2. mount a usb disk or filesystem on the recognized harddrive to /mnt by
running "mount /dev/sdX /mnt". You need to load ext3 module if you wanna mount
a ext3fs.
3. Run the following commands.
# cp /var/log/boot.msg /mnt
# hwinfo --all > /mnt/hwinfo.log
# dmesg > /mnt/dmesg.log
4. unmount the file system. "umount /mnt"
5. reboot into installed system and post the three files created in #3.
Thanks.
