On KDE, you can unintsall pulseaudio and pulseaudio-module-x11 packages. Also alsa-plugins-pulse should be uninstalled. On GNOME or other desktops, it's a different question.
Okay, I've deinstalled all pulseaudio packages now again (now RC2 not RC1 anymore).
Also, you can change the sound backend on amarok and KDE menu. Choose xine backend instead of gstreamer backend.
