There is no option to switch the system into legacy mode.
However when choosing the boot options there are legacy entries for the disks.
This basically means that I will have to install the system on a different
non-EFI machine to get it into working state.
Or I can try to hack the /boot/efi onto an USB stick and always boot from that
USB stick. Unfortunately on my desktop I was unable to make grub-efi boot
across disks (I have one disk with Windows and one disk with Linux there) so
that probably won't work either.
